Yay. first post.. i shall start to rant about what the hell i think of the shitty education today. In fact, i think i created this blog because i urgently have a need to flame education today.
Right, beggining with my own personal experience (how paintful can it get, im unaware). I have to take 8 subjects : English, Higher Mother Tongue, English literature, Maths, Geography, History, Modular science and Infocomm studies. Of the seven, i think only 4 are worth working on. (the four being 2 languages, science and math) Look, why the hell do students to day have to do those 4 retarded meaningless subjects? 读Geography读个屁。 读History读放屁。读Literature去eat shit。学C++ for what shit.
Maybe at this point of time, if someone could enlighten me how the hell I can make use of some history rubbish ten years down the road, i'll study it, but i dont really think it'll be possible. Education today is turning into an industry, far from what it is supposed to be. Why the hell are secondary schools offering a whole load of shit subjects? Shouldn't secondary school education still be a part of a student's foundation? They probably are doing this to boast how much facilities they have and subsequently, how much torture their students can enjoy. Okay, perhaps they could have some infocomm studies lessons in school for those who are interested, BUT why the hell are they making it compulsory and forcing some shitty program codes into our brains? For history as well. So what if we know a hell lot about world war one and its causes? Right, we cannot 忘本 or something like that, but when you are forced to recite a hell lot of facts, its a waste of time.
Now in school they offer special programmes, but you need to have a certain standard in results before you can enter these special programmes. They say it will help you in the future and if you do well, you can possibly get a scholarship. Yes, they help you in the FUTURE. But they tear you apart NOW. Tearing apart not by making you learn things your'e interested in or something that you know you will apply in life like mathematics or self-improvement stuff, but instead stupidly redundant things like how in the world world war one broke out or something like that.
I feel that this is causing student's to lose alot of what is needed most to be a real learner - interest. Look at those with good results and you realise the first thing you hear when you ask about their method of success is "my mum kills me at home. Teacher make me memorize some crappy facts." Slowly and slowly i'm feeling that this same piece of crap if happening to me. I can even feel this sudden urge to create a blog to flame education today while doing literature homework. *sigh* What has happened to education?
